NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE PLANNING COMMISSION

The Provo City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers of the Provo City Center, located at 351 West Center Street. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, a briefing will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room, located at 330 West 100 South. The briefing is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public hearing at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers. ITEM 2*          The Provo City Attorney’s Office requests an amendment to Section 14.34.24 - Residential Facilities for Persons with a Disability and Residential Facility for Elderly Persons, including the elimination of minimum separation requirements and adding certain site standards and occupancy requirements. Notice of RAP tax election

Notice is hereby given that Provo City will hold a RAP tax election in conjunction with the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, for the purpose of submitting to the eligible voters of Provo the following Ballot Proposition:

PROPOSITION #4

Shall the City of Provo, Utah, be authorized to impose a 0.1% sales and use tax for purposes related to Recreation, Arts, and Parks?

The proposed RAP tax would be collected at the rate of 1 cent for every $10 spent in Provo and may be used for purposes such as:
- Improvements to Existing Trails, Pathways, and Trailheads
- Park Completion Projects
- Existing Facility Upgrades
- Arts Expansion
- Other Future Project Funding

____ AGAINST the RAP tax

The polling places for the RAP Tax Ballot Proposition will be the same as the polling places for the General Election. The Provo City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed RAP tax ballot proposition on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. during the regular Council Meeting which will begin at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Provo City Council Chambers located at 351 West Center Street. The purpose of this hearing will be to receive public comment regarding the proposed Recreation, Arts, and Parks (RAP) sales tax. The City Council shall allow equal time, within a reasonable limit, for any interested person to present arguments in favor of the ballot proposition and against the ballot proposition.
