Planning Commission Agenda

The Provo City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers of the Provo City Center, located at 351 West Center Street. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, dinner will be provided to Planning Commission members at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room, located at 330 West 100 South. The Planning Commission dinner is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public hearing at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers. Public Hearings
ITEM 1*           Provo City Economic Development Department requests an amendment to Section 14.38.105(1) to increase the amount of signage permitted in a multi-tenant building in the Downtown, ITOD, Downtown Gateway, and West Gateway Zones. City-Wide Impact. 17-0010OA, Aaron Ardmore, 801-852-6404   

ITEM 2*           David Gardner requests an Ordinance Amendment to allow accessory dwelling units attached to an industrial use in the Manufacturing Park (MP) Zone. Rivergrove Neighborhood. 17-0002OA, Austin Corry, 801-852-6413

ITEM 3*           The Provo City Community Development Department request an amendment to Subsection 14.10.080(3) regarding street-side yards on corner lots. City-Wide Impact. 17-0007OA, Brian Maxfield, 801-852-6429. This item was continued from the June 14, 2017 Planning Commission Hearing.

ITEM 4*           The Provo City Community Development Department requests an amendment to Chapter 14.06 and Subsection 14.10.090(4) regarding patio roofs and their extension into a required setback. City-Wide Impact. 17-0008OA, Brian Maxfield, 801-852-6429. This item was continued from the June 14, 2017 Planning Commission Hearing.

ITEM 5            Request to reconsider Tyson Barker’s request for Project Plan Approval for a charter school at approximately 1792 S. State Street in the A1.5 and R1.6 Zones.  Spring Creek Neighborhood. 17-0001PPA, Dustin Wright, 801-852-6414

Items noted on this agenda with a star (*) require a public hearing and legislative action by the Municipal Council. The Council hearing dates will be noticed 14 days prior to the Council meeting in the legal notices of the Daily Herald. Items on this agenda without a star (*) are administrative and require the approval only the Planning Commission. Decisions on the unmarked items may be appealed to the Board of Adjustment by making application with the Community Development Department by 6:00 p.m. within 14 days of the Planning Commission decision.

Copies of the agenda materials, public hearing procedure, and staff recommendations are available the week of the hearing at reasonable cost in the Community Development office between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Agendas and staff recommendations are also generally available on the Provo City Community Development web site the week of the meeting at provo.org/planningcommission.
