NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE LANDMARKS COMMISSION

The Provo City Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room at the Provo City Center, located at 330 West 100 South. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, a briefing will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room. The briefing is open to the public; however, formal presentation of items, public comment and actions will be reserved for the public hearing at 12:30 p.m.

ITEM 1   Brian Dabb requests a review for a zone map amendment from the R1.6 (One-Family Residential) to the MDR (Medium Density Residential) zone for the property located at 905 East Center Street. Foothills Neighborhoods. 15-0004R, Josh Yost 801-852-6408

ITEM 2    Randall Cloward, agent for K & B Hoover Investments LC, requests a revised Certificate of Appropriateness for a facade renovation of the building located at 184 West Center. This building is a Non-Contributing Building within the Provo Downtown Historic District. Central Business District Neighborhood. 14-0001LMDR, Josh Yost 801-852-6408

ITEM 3    Discussion of potential amendments to Title 16 Landmarks Preservation and to the boundaries of the Provo Downtown Historic District.

ITEM 3   Review and discussion of draft Provo Landmarks public information documents.

ITEM 4   Progress update on Historic Downtown Walking Tour App.


Items noted on the agenda with a star (*) require legislative action by the Municipal Council following a public hearing. Unmarked items are administrative actions requiring the approval of only the Landmarks Commission. Decisions on items involving either landmark designation or the refusal to issue a Certificate of Historic Appropriateness may be appealed to the Municipal Council within thirty (30) days of the decision of the Commission per Section 16.03 of the Provo City Code.

Copies of the agenda materials, public hearing procedure, and staff recommendations are available the week of the hearing at reasonable cost in the Community Development office, located at 330 West 100 South, Provo, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Agendas and staff recommendations are also generally available on the Provo City Community Development website the week of the meeting at provo.org/landmarkscommission.

Provo City will make reasonable accommodations for all citizens interested in participating in this meeting. If assistance is needed to allow participation at this meeting, please call the Community Development Department at (801) 852-6400 before 12:00 p.m. the day before the meeting to make arrangements.
